Most of you probably know about the accident Tara Llanes had in Colorado last season. If you don’t, check out Tara Llanes MySpace blog. She was out at Sea Otter this past weekend and looked really good. They were having a raffle to help raise money for her recovery with $5 tickets and prizes from Manitou, Santa Cruz, Thule, Smith, Giant, and Michelin, to name a few. The main prize was a trip to Costa Rica.
Tara also did some announcing during the pro dual slalom. After her accident it was really good to see her out and about. She seemed happy and healthy and was decidedly enthusiastic in her dual slalom commentary.

The upcoming, “Pure, Sweet Pain,” issue of Bike mag has a 9-page story about Tara’s recovery. The text is all by Tara and photos are by Anne Keller, an awesome photographer who posts on Mtbr as grannyannie. I hear from my sources deep within Bike, that the story is really, really good.

Thanks for adding the link, Carlos. I had a hard time finding more information about the auction and raffle. I should have asked her about it when I took her picture. But that’s how events always go. I am happy I was able to get a picture and post a little story, though. I hope that helps.
