Mike from Ellsworth shows us the innovative and new full carbon Enlightenment 29 with Gates belt drive.
-full carbon fiber
-internal cable routing
-replaceable rear dropouts (horizontal mount (SS) or vertical mount (gears))
-Gates belt drive system (saves weight, silent, unique)
-rare earth carbon fiber layup technique in a factory dedicated to quality, consistency and environmental safety.
From the manufacturer:
“Ellsworth’s Rare Earth Carbon Fiber finds its way to the firm tail MTB! The Force directional carbon shapes and lay patterns provide an amazing ride feel from this non-suspended MTB. The DMS (Dual Mono Stay) Firm tails have an element of absorption to them without mechanical articulation. Interchangeable dropouts let you run these as multi-gear or ONE gear designs. Additionally, the unique dropout design will accommodate a belt drive system, if your heart so desires. The Enlightenment 29 features some of the most exceptional stand-over heights of any 29er making this beauty a very versatile alternative for riders that can’t usually fit a 29er. Whatever your path – single speed, belt drives, multigear, 26″ wheels or 29″ wheels – this Ellsworth will provide Enlightenment!”
The Enlightenment is also available with the NuVinci system, which is a Continously Variable Transmission.
Besides the Enlightenment, Ellsworth was also announcing the availability of custom colored anodized hop up bits for your Truth, Epiphany, Moment, Rogue, and Dare.
-rocker pins
-rocker arms
-derailleur hangers
-water bottle bolts

ano links, thats groundbreaking!!
but that 29er looks cool
also, where can i get a sweet ed hardy looking ellsworth shirt….
Why put the nuvinci hub according to jensonusa it weighs 4100grams. Um that may counteract some of the weight/efficiecy and handling advantages of the carbon
frame. Perhaps a two stroke motor would work too?
Hammerschmidt weighs less than a kilo or a normal
deraileur would be fine too.
I want to run a Belt drive with Rohloff hub at the back, with a Niner carbon rigid fork on the front.
Any ideas or help?
Can the belt drive be used and adapted to a rohloff hub
