Hippie Tech Suspension Teflon-Infused Anodizing and Slick Hippie Fork Upgrade

I talked to Jerry Vanderpool of Hippie Tech Suspension at Sea Otter. He’s adding Teflon-infused anodizing to his list of suspension tuning services. The 25% Teflon coating substantially reduces friction for better overall suspension performance – especially at the top end of the stroke where you get the most traction benefits. Although it’s really about improved performance, the new anodizing is also available in eight colors, including the blue you see here.

For downhill racers on a budget who are looking at buying a new fork, the Hippie Tech “Slick Hippie” fork upgrade is a great option. Instead of spending $1500 or more on a new race fork, you can get your fork rebuilt and the Teflon-ano upgrade for just $400. That’s $100 for the rebuild and $300 for the Teflon coating and your fork will be better than it was when you first pulled it out of the box. It’s also important to note that Hippie Tech is using the coating on the inside and outside of the fork – friction doesn’t just happen on the part of the fork you can see.

If you’re in the market for a new fork, save your money for race expenses and beer – visit the Hippie Tech Web site and breathe some new life into your old fork, instead.
