Jeff from Titus gives us the latest info about two new bikes from Titus.

The first one is a steel/exo-grid cyclocross bike...the first cross bike ever from Titus. This cross bike will also be available in full Ti and Ti/Exo-grid combo.

The second bike is a prototype Iso-grid carbon/Ti 29er, due out for 2009.

It’s not about the bikes…

….sometimes it’s about the bike carriers or even other two wheeled (or moto styled) forms of getting around, and having fun.

Just a few photos of other vehicles besides bicycles, that I saw around Sea Otter 2008.

Specialized had a couple of Minis to carry their bikes….one new and one old:

Oakley Dodge…and yes…it has a hemi.

Magura had one of their sponsored riders giving a different kind of two wheeled show. Aaron Colton is a 15 year old stunt rider who was performing shows throughout the day on Saturday. Burnouts, wheelies, stoppies….easy as pie for this guy. To check out more of Aaron’s style, go to: www.aaroncolton.com

Fuji showed us two exciting new bikes at Sea Otter. Mark Smith and company are making a serious bid to be a key player in the mountain bike market.

The first is the 5-inch travel Reveal 1.0. The frame is shaped and gussetted for extra fork clearance. The bottom bracket is reinforced as well to be 35% stiffer.

And the bike is very well spec'ed as we have come to expect from Fuji.

Please pardon the wind noise as the famous Sea Otter weather attacked us on Saturday.

Paul Sadoff’s cyclocross horn and Rock Lobster bike

While walking back up to the media center on Friday, I spotted this old horn. If you’re a Northern California cyclocross racing fan, you know what it sounds like. Because it’s at all the races. I asked the guy who was carrying it if I could take a picture because it looked so cool. Then I noticed the sweet, lugged Rock Lobster bike he had and it turns out he is Mr. Rock Lobster - Paul Sadoff.

Niner unveils their IMBA bike

Niner unveiled their IMBA bike at Sea Otter and it was a hit! It features trail maps on the panels and its theme resonates with every mountain biker who’s used these maps to navigate through new trails. The maps are complemented by an attractive mustard yellow color. Very smart logos and icons adorn the fork.

Instead of the trademark ‘Pedal damn it’ sign on the top tube, this one says ‘Join damn it’.

The paint job was conceived through a contest where anybody could submit their ideas. The winner was chosen by Niner and the paint job was executed just in time for Sea Otter. Read the rest of this entry »
